Do We No Longer Need Marriage?
Think the US doesn’t need marriage anymore?
Think again.
Research shows that marriage is still way influential. (In a good way!)
If you want to keep your kids out of jail, pregnancy-free, and employed, you’d better get hitched. Tying the knot doubles their chances of success.
Married folks also are less depressed and less dependant on drugs/alcohol than unmarried folks. Not to mention married folks make 10% more money annually…
Marriage is still in vogue, too… At least for the highly educated.
The poorly educated are getting more divorces every year while people graduating college or higher are increasing their nuptials… until death do us part, no less.
What’s causing this gap if marriage seems to be so good for everybody? Why are the poorly-educated getting more divorces/not getting married?
